Wolfgang Kern

Wolfgang Kern is a highly experienced professional in the field of digital manufacturing and logistics, currently serving as Project Lead for the Battery Factory in Nuremberg at MAN Truck & Bus SE since March 2023. Prior experience includes a significant role as Project Lead for Modular Production at AUDI AG, where responsibilities included concept and implementation within the Audi Production Lab, along with contributions as a PhD candidate focused on modular assembly as an alternative to traditional assembly line production. Wolfgang also completed a Master’s thesis evaluating complexity in automotive assembly lines during a tenure at AUDI AG. Prior to these roles, experience was gained through internships and academic positions at Siemens, Bosch, Fraunhofer IIS, and WITTENSTEIN SE, with foundational education in Industrial Engineering and Management from FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg and logistics from the University of Hull, culminating in a Dr.-Ing. from the University of Stuttgart.
