Kathy Huczko has a diverse work experience spanning over four decades. Kathy started their career as a Production Foreman at U.S. Steel in 1977 before transitioning to a role as a Mechanical Engineer at Alcoa in 1979. At Alcoa, they worked their way up to an Engineering Supervisor position before joining ALCOA Tennessee Operations as an Engineering Supervisor in 1990. Kathy then moved on to Philips Consumer Electronics in 1995, where they served as a Project Manager and Project Leader for almost a decade. Kathy also took on the role of Project Manager/Project Leader and later Project Manager PTV during their time there.
In 2006, Kathy joined ORNL as a Manager, where they worked until 2010. Kathy then transitioned into the role of Technical Project Manager until 2015. Kathy's experience also includes working as a Principal Project Manager at Tennessee Valley Authority from 2015 to 2016 and as an Adjunct Faculty at ITT Technical Institute from 2013 to 2016.
From 2017 to 2018, Kathy served as a Quality Manager at Hubbell Power Systems before joining Management Solutions, LLC in 2019 as a Project Manager. In their current role, Kathy is contracted to provide project management and engineering support for the startup and validation of medical device production equipment. Their responsibilities include moving existing equipment and processes to a new facility, ensuring GMP startup, and FDA validation.
Kathy Huczko's education history is as follows:
- From 2004 to 2008, they attended The George Washington University School of Business and obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Project Management.
- In 1994 and 1995, Kathy studied at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Between 1980 and 1985, they pursued post-bachelor's studies in Business Accounting and Finance at the University of Pittsburgh.
- Kathy attended the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown from 1973 to 1977, receiving a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology.
- Kathy graduated from United High School in 1973, obtaining a high school diploma.
Aside from their formal education, Kathy Huczko has also acquired additional certifications. These include becoming a Project Management Professional (PMP®) from the Project Management Institute in April 2012, another Project Management Professional certification in February 2011, a Six Sigma Black Belt from the American Society for Quality in October 2009, and they also hold the title of Registered Professional Engineer from the state of Pennsylvania, which they obtained in February 1984.
