Nick Cox has extensive work experience in the sports industry. Nick is currently a Patron at the Manchester Munich Memorial Foundation since 2022. Prior to that, they held various roles at Manchester United, including Director of Academy and Head of Academy from 2019 to 2022. From 2016 to 2019, they served as the Academy Operations Manager, responsible for developing the Academy's vision, culture, and strategy.
In 2019, Cox was a Non Executive Director at Badminton England. Nick previously worked as the Academy Manager at Sheffield United PLC from 2012 to 2016. Before that, they held multiple positions at Watford Football Club, including Head of Academy, Academy Manager, Head of Education, Football Development Officer, and Development Centre Co-ordinator between 2001 and 2012.
Cox's career in the sports industry started as a Sports Science Lecturer at Oaklands College from 2000 to 2002.
Nick Cox attended The Manchester Metropolitan University from 2014 to 2017, where they earned a degree in Msd Sporting Directorship with a field of study in Sports Leadership. Prior to that, from 2001 to 2002, they studied at the University of Greenwich and obtained a degree in PCET. Earlier in their education, from 1996 to 1999, they attended Liverpool John Moores University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree with a field of study in Coaching Science + Science of Football. In addition, from 1997 to 1998, they also obtained a Dip (HE) degree in Science and Football from Liverpool John Moores University.
