Rene van Hoven

Rene van Hoven is an accomplished professional in the wine and spirits industry, currently serving as a book author for Mango Publishing since January 2021, and as an international spirits specialist with International Drinks Specialists since October 2020. Rene co-founded Trips & Taste in February 2019 and established Rene's Rarities in December 2015, focusing on the buying and selling of rare rum and other spirits. With a notable background in judging spirits and wines, Rene has been a judge at the Michelangelo International Wine & Spirits Competition since August 2014 and previously served as a judge and team captain at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles from 2007 to 2016. Rene's entrepreneurial spirit is further highlighted by founding Rumpages from 2000 to 2015 and EntreNous from 1992 to 2000. Education includes credentials from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust and a Bachelor's degree in Food & Beverage from Fontys University of Applied Sciences.
