We are committed to improving patient experience and reducing healthcare costs by making it easier for doctors, hospitals, health plans and other care providers to securely review, analyze and share health information.   Reporting to the Manager of Engineering in HIE Operations the Senior Developer is responsible for the design, evaluation, implementation, and integration of technologies, in particular InterSystems HealthShare Iris for Health, Lyniate Rhapsody and other components comprising the Manifest MedEx solution suite. 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead in the design and maintenance of the overall system architecture for the Manifest MedEx solutions to deliver the services that create value for our internal and external participants, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure that the application development and configuration of services meet applicable standards in areas of architecture, business logic, documentation for external parties, security, interoperability, reusability, scalability, extensibility, and dependability.
  • Lead the technical design, development, and configuration of our core application platform to meet product functional and non-functional requirements
  • Lead debugging efforts on Iris system performance issues involving memory or high CPU usage
  • Provide technical guidance to other developers and serve as escalation point for complex debugging tasks
  • Participate in capacity planning activities and project system requirements (including network, storage, CPU, memory, etc.) to support anticipated needs, including specific budget and technology recommendations
  • Design and develop pipelines for inbound and outbound clinical and health plan data interfaces, specifically HL7, CCDA, eligibility, medical and RX claims data feeds, utilizing the MX toolset, primarily with InterSystems Iris for Health and Lyniate Rhapsody integration engines.
  • Participate in and drive multiple stages of testing (i.e., Unit, System, Integration) and accurately document and appropriately escalate any observed testing failures prior to go-live and support during the go-live
  • Maintain a current system and network architecture depicting the configuration of our solutions and infrastructure
  • Participate in agile/scrum planning sessions to drive priority of backlog, level of effort estimation and determine technical feasibility of product requirements
  • Ensure our solutions meet regulatory and compliance requirements and enforce the security necessary to protect IP and the PHI with which we have been entrusted

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ relevant work experience in technology development and solution architecture, preferably in healthcare industry
  • Required: Expertise (5 years minimum) with InterSystems HealthShare and/or Iris for Health
  • Required: Expertise in InterSystems ObjectScript
  • Experience in Iris system support tools like ^Pbuttons and ^Perfmon
  • Experience with Iris System Admin tasks including Namespace and Database configuration, global mapping, Roles and Credentials
  • Experience building web services (SOAP and REST) within the Iris for Health platform
  • Experience with IHE profiles for data exchange (PIX/PDQ, XDS.b. XCA/XCPD)
  • Experience in HL7 FHIR and v2 messaging
  • Experience with common tools for parsing and transformation of XML documents including XPath and XSLT
  • Experience with Lyniate Rhapsody or other leading interface engines
  • Experience in the design, querying, and maintenance of SQL databases
  • Experience with UNIX commands and Shell scripting
  • Experience and knowledge of message/file transfer protocols such as TCP/IP, FTP, SFTP, PGP (Public key/Private key), SSL/TLS certificate exchange.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer information systems, computer science, engineering, or software engineering
  • Experience implementing solutions that comply with industry regulatory and compliance standards (ISO, HITRUST, HIPAA)
  • Ability to build and maintain respectful and productive internal and external relationships that are professional, encourage collaboration, ensure accountability, and allow the achievement of mutual objectives and strategies
  • Self-starter, analytical, problem solver and action oriented. Can organize and manage their own with minimal management attention and direction. Comfortable tackling projects outside of your comfort zone.
