Dr Mahua Basu

Dr Mahua Basu has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. Dr Mahua started their career as a Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Gastroenterology at Kothari Medical Centre in Kolkata in 1995. Dr Mahua then worked at PSRI in New Delhi as a Medical Coordinator and Management Representative for NABH and ISO from November 2005 to March 2010.

In 2010, Dr Basu joined CMRI, Kolkata, and CK Birla Group as a Deputy General Manager (Quality) where they were involved in planning, designing, and developing healthcare quality assurance systems, as well as drafting documentation guidelines and identifying clinical and non-clinical quality indicators. Dr Mahua stayed in this role until March 2013.

From January 2014 to February 2018, Dr Basu served as the Head of Medical Services at Bhagirathi Neotia Woman & Child Care Centre.

In 2018, Dr Basu joined CKBirla Healthcare as a Group Lead Quality from February to December, and then moved on to Manipal Health Enterprises Pvt. Ltd. Dr Mahua held various positions at Manipal Health, including AGM Quality, Regional Head Quality, Regional Head of Quality, and currently serves as the Head of Medical Services for the East Region.

Throughout their career, Dr Mahua Basu has gained extensive experience in medical services, quality assurance, and management in the healthcare industry.

Dr Mahua Basu has a education history that includes several degrees and certifications. Dr Mahua started with a Higher Secondary degree in Science from Patha Bhavan in 1984. Dr Mahua then went on to pursue a MBBS degree along with post-graduate degrees in Health & Family welfare and Hospital Administration from Calcutta National Medical College, NIHFW, and IISWBM, respectively, between 1984 and 1990. In 1998, they obtained another post-graduate degree in Hospital Administration from the National Institute of Health and Family Welfare. Their education continued with a PG in Hospital and Healthcare Management from IISWBM, completed between 1999 and 2001. Additionally, they completed a Lean Six Sigma in Healthcare program from Cardiff University in 2005-2006, and a NABH Assessor course from the Quality Council of India in 2015. Their field of study primarily focuses on medicine, hospital administration, quality and patient safety, and business administration and management.
