Dave Kearney

Dave Kearney has a diverse work experience in the field of electronic engineering and RF design. Dave has most recently worked as an Electronic Engineering Manager at Manna Drone Delivery since January 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Garmin as a Lead Technical Design Engineer - HW & RF starting in February 2021.

Before joining Garmin, Dave worked at Vesper Marine from February 2013 to February 2022. Here, they served as a Principal RF/HW Engineer, leading the design of the Vesper Cortex next-generation Marine VHF Radio platform. Dave was responsible for full product-level design across multiple sub-assemblies, including SCH design, PCB layout, and other aspects such as EMC/EMI mitigation and controlled-impedance lines.

Dave's earlier experience includes working at Rakon as an Electronics & RF Design Engineer from October 2010 to February 2013. Dave was primarily involved in the design and testing of Frequency Control Solutions for RF consumer applications, with a focus on Temperature Controlled Crystal Oscillators (TCXOs). Dave also worked on optimizing performance metrics and building software test systems.

Before Rakon, Dave Kearney worked at TDK Electronics Ireland from October 2001 to June 2009. Dave held various roles at TDK, including Senior RF Design/Applications Engineer and RF Design Engineer. Their responsibilities involved miniature ceramic chip antenna design and development, customer support for various protocols, electronic circuit design and analysis, 3D EM simulation, radiation pattern measurements, and statistical analysis of manufacturing and testing processes.

Dave Kearney attended University College Dublin from 1996 to 2001, where they earned a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) degree in Electronics. Later, from 2008 to 2010, they pursued further education at Technological University Dublin, completing an Mphil degree in Miniature RF Antenna Design.
