Brett Smith

Brett Smith is an accomplished maritime professional with extensive experience in the shipping and renewable energy sectors. Currently serving as General Manager at Manor Renewable Energy Ltd since May 2018, Brett previously held multiple roles at Gearbulk from 1997 to November 2017, including Trade Manager, responsible for evaluating and negotiating contracts in dry commodities, and managing key accounts for major industrial clients. Earlier positions at Gearbulk included Line Manager, managing non-ferrous metals exports, and various operational roles such as Commercial Assistant and Marine Accountant, showcasing a well-rounded skill set in maritime operations. Brett's career began at Cory Brothers Shipping Agency Ltd from 1994 to 1997 as a Ship's Agent, handling diverse vessel and cargo types. An alumnus of the University of Plymouth with a Bachelor of Science degree in Maritime Business with Maritime Law, Brett is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers since 2000.
