Juliana de Carvalho Neves is a Postdoctoral Researcher at IGBMC since July 2022, focusing on single nuclei physiology in the skeletal muscle of mouse models. Previously, Juliana conducted research as a Postdoctoral Researcher at IGBMC from January 2019 to December 2021, where the work involved characterizing a novel centronuclear myopathy mouse model and developing proof-of-concept therapies. Prior to this, Juliana was a MSc and PhD student researcher at Universidade de São Paulo from February 2011 to November 2018, investigating skeletal muscle atrophy, degeneration, and regeneration in a mouse model of sialidosis. Earlier academic experience includes serving as an undergraduate researcher at UFSCar from January 2009 to July 2010, analyzing the cytochrome oxidase 1 gene barcode in the mitochondrial DNA of Diptera species. Juliana holds a PhD and MSc from USP, obtained in 2018 and 2014 respectively, and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from UFSCar, completed in 2010.
