Joe Darlington is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in digital manufacturing and technology management. Currently serving as Director of the Technology Sector and Chief Engineer for Digital Manufacturing at the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) since September 2011, Darlington focuses on enhancing productivity and reducing investment risks in aerospace, automotive, and defense through innovative technologies. Previous roles include Business Change Manager and Technology Manager in Virtual Manufacturing, where leadership involved developing teams and driving digital technology adoption among OEM customers. Earlier in the career, experiences as a Senior Research Engineer at MTC, Knowledge Transfer Specialist at WMG, University of Warwick, Project Engineer at Loughborough University, and Research Associate at the University of Bristol provided a strong foundation in project management, consultancy, and technology integration. Academic qualifications include a Ph.D. in Engineering from the University of Bristol and a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Warwick, complemented by a leadership program at the Møller Institute.
