Joseph Compton

Joseph Compton has a strong background in IT security and management. Joseph is currently working as the Senior Director of Cybersecurity and Privacy at Marcum Technology since September 2021. Before that, they were a Partner and Director at Marcum LLP, where they held various roles from December 2019 to September 2020. Prior to that, Joseph was the Principal at Skoda Minotti, where they were responsible for business development and strategic consulting services from December 2011 to December 2019. Joseph also served as the President at Core Information Management, Inc., where they developed and managed an IT Security Audit practice from January 1999 to December 2011. Additionally, Joseph worked as the IT Manager at Colormatrix, where they led the implementation of an ERP system and managed the network infrastructure.

Joseph Compton completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in English and History from John Carroll University between 1984 and 1989. Joseph also obtained a high school diploma from Lake Catholic High School in 1984. In 2012, Joseph acquired a Certificate in Executive Management Program from the University of Notre Dame, specializing in Organizational Leadership. In 2013 and 2014, they participated in the Leadership Cleveland program, focusing on Leadership, Civic Leadership, and Community Development. Joseph has received several certifications, including the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from ISC2 in 2001 and 2004, the Certified Information Security Auditor (CISA) from ISACA in 2006, and the Payment Card Industry Professional (PCIP) from the PCI Security Standards Council in 2021 and 2022. Joseph also holds the QSA certification from the PCI Security Standards Council, obtained in February 2021.
