Patricia Hoekstra-Suurs

Patricia Hoekstra-Suurs, PhD, currently serves as a Research Technologist at Marel Townsend Further Processing since October 2007, specializing in carbohydrate and protein chemistry for sausage casing production and co-extrusion technology. Patricia completed a PhD in Animal Science at Wageningen University & Research between January 2019 and June 2023, focusing on the effects of biological factors on collagen quality for co-extruded sausage casings. Prior experience includes serving as an R&D Technologist at Ruitenberg Ingredients B.V. from February 2004 to September 2007, where the primary focus was on the physical and chemical properties of food ingredients for the meat, fish, and convenience sectors, particularly hydrocolloids and biopolymers. Educational credentials include a Master of Science in Food Science and Technology, and a Bachelor of Science in Food Technology with a focus on Quality Management.
