Kristine Shaw is an experienced music educator and library assistant, currently serving at Maricopa County Library District since July 2021. Prior experience includes roles as a music educator at Sequoia Lehi Charter School and as an enlisted conductor with the Parris Island Marine Band, as well as extensive service as a Marine Corps musician. Education includes a Master of Music in Music Education from Boston University and current pursuit of a Master of Arts in Library and Information Science at the University of Arizona. Additional training includes programs at the Naval School of Music and Marine Corps Recruiting School, complemented by a Bachelor of Science in Music from Liberty University.

The Maricopa County Library District (MCLD) is a special taxing district that operates 15 libraries countywide. MCLD’s mission is to provide access and services so residents experience an improved quality of life. Each year, the Library District welcomes nearly 2 million visitors, holds thousands of free events and programs for all ages, and hosts Maricopa County Reads, the award-winning Summer Reading Program. In 2022, the Library District held nearly 2,000 library events, 2,300 online events, and circulated 8.6 million physical and digital checkouts.
