Dureen Samandar Eweis

Vice-chair, Policy Working Group at Marie Curie Alumni Association

Dureen Samandar Eweis, PhD, currently serves as a Science Officer and Consultant at the International Science Council since November 2022, and as Head of the Research Policy Task Force for the Marie Curie Alumni Association since February 2023. Prior experience includes a role as a Policy Officer at the European Commission from March to July 2022 and a PhD Researcher at Institut Curie - Research Centre between October 2017 and November 2021, focusing on cell morphological changes in the parthenogenetic species Diploscapter pachys. Earlier positions include Assistant to the Vice President at Tamkeen CSR, working on development proposals, a Young Researcher at UCL, and a Master Thesis Student at Universitat de Barcelona. Dureen holds a PhD in Developmental Biology and Embryology from PSL Research University, a Master’s Degree in Biomedical Research from Universitat Pompeu Fabra, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Birzeit University.
