Christopher Warner is the Director of Technology at MARIN COUNTRY DAY SCHOOL. Christopher has over three years of experience in the education technology field. Christopher has created and published content for www.mcdstech.org, built long-term relationships with partner schools and organizations, and disseminated ed/tech resources. Christopher has also helped teachers identify and assess tech tools (software/hardware) for educational value, served as administrative backup to teachers with regard to tech-related incidents, and designed and implemented 1st-8th grade curricula around coding; computer science; app design; tech enterprise; physical computing; digital citizenship; mindfulness, neuroscience, psychology and human development as they relate to technology; media literacy; effective search; academic-tech integration; digital workflow skills; and digital portfolio building. In addition, they have taught 539 students weekly, in class groups of 10-20, and provided students with formal written feedback and assessment. Christopher has also authored, annually revised, and overseen enforcement of student Responsible Use Policies, oversaw student-device content-filtering/monitoring tools and practices, supported students and families experiencing challenges around technology, monitored online tools’ privacy policies, for compliance with legal and educational standards, programmed and delivered parent education events, and provided parents with 1:1 consultation/advice. Furthermore, they have administered semi-annual school-wide parent technology surveys and synthesized and published results to help parents build community-based context around digital parenting choices.
Christopher Warner has a MA in Learning, Design & Technology from Stanford University. Christopher also attended the Klingenstein Summer Institute at Teachers College, Columbia University. Warner holds a BA in Elementary Education from the University of Kentucky.
They are on a team with Karen Velásquez - Director of Diversity Equity & Inclusion, Jennifer Welch - Director of Admission, and Barbara Kraemer-Cook - Assistant Head of School for Curriculum, US Division Head & 8th Grade Co-Advisor. Their manager is Katherine Dinh, Head of School.
