Search And Rescue Unit Leader at Marin County Sheriff's Office

Michael St John has extensive experience in emergency services, currently serving as a Search Management Instructor at the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services since June 2001, where responsibilities include teaching a certified 32-hour course on Advanced Search Management and victim searches related to serious crimes. St John also leads a 100-member Search and Rescue Team for the Marin County Sheriff's Department, which conducts missions across California, and previously held the position of Training and Operations Battalion Chief at the Mill Valley Fire Department until retirement in November 2018. St John holds an Associate of Arts Degree in Fire Science/Fire-fighting from Coastline Community College, earned between 2008 and 2012.
