Firas Awad has extensive work experience in the field of e-commerce. Firas currently serves as the Head of Ecommerce at Marina Home Interiors, where they are responsible for developing the digital vision and strategic direction across the GCC region. Firas has successfully implemented a new e-commerce platform, resulting in a significant increase in revenue and website traffic. Firas also has experience working at Chalhoub Group, where they held various roles, including Division Manager - eCommerce and E-commerce Experience and Operations Department Manager. In these positions, they developed effective business growth strategies and managed the order fulfillment process, as well as coordinated with various departments to ensure smooth operations. Firas has also worked as a Senior Merchandise Planner, Senior Brand analyst, Purchase coordinator, and Purchase admin, showcasing their diverse skills and experience in the retail industry.
Firas Awad holds a Master's degree in International Business from the University of Wollongong, which they obtained from 2009 to 2011. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Materials, and Supply Chain Management from the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, from 2001 to 2005.
In addition to their formal education, Firas has also obtained various certifications. These include Customer Retention from LinkedIn in February 2021, Customer Experience: Journey Mapping from LinkedIn in March 2020, and Giving Your Elevator Pitch from LinkedIn in March 2020. Firas has also completed the Digital Marketing Track workshop from AstroLabs in May 2018.
Furthermore, Firas has received the Advanced Management Program (AMP) certification from IESE Business School in May 2017. Firas has also completed several online courses, including Business Fundamentals, Excel Data Analysis: Forecasting, Project Management Fundamentals, and Excel 2007: Financial Analysis, from Lynda.com in 2017 and 2016.
