Diego Johansen currently serves as the Vice Chair for the Hawai'i Section of the Marine Technology Society and is a Field Technician & Project Assistant with the Pacific Islands Ocean Observing System, focusing on water quality monitoring in Hawai'i. Previous experience includes roles as a Front-End Developer and Supporter Relations Officer for Greenpeace USA, where responsibilities spanned website management and donor relations. Additionally, Diego held an Aquarist Intern position at Heal the Bay, contributed as a Junior Project Manager at Santa Monica College's Center for Environmental and Urban Studies, and completed an internship focused on eco-building and sustainable construction at Prime Five Homes. Diego is pursuing a degree at the University of Hawaii at Hilo, having previously attended Santa Monica College and Pasadena City College, where a Certificate of Achievement in Fire Science and Technology was earned.
