Joanna D’avanzo

Joanna D'Avanzo is an experienced academic and creative professional with a robust background in advertising and communication. Currently serving as the Faculty Coordinator for the Global Marketing Communication Degree, Senior Professional Lecturer of Advertising, and Department Chair of Communication at Marist College since August 2015, Joanna has also held the role of Adjunct Instructor at the Academy of Art University from 2010 to 2015, where course development and thesis direction were key responsibilities. Prior to academia, Joanna worked as a Freelance Creative Director and Art School Instructor, creating advertisements for local businesses while actively engaging in community activities as President of the Washington School PTA. Joanna's robust career in advertising also includes significant tenures as Creative Director at GreyNY and Senior Art Director at JWT, advancing creative strategies for notable clients. Joanna holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Advertising from the Fashion Institute of Technology and has also pursued further education at the University of the Arts London and the School of Visual Arts.
