Scott Shafer

Scott Shafer is a seasoned technology executive with extensive experience in employee experience and digital transformation across various organizations. Currently serving as the Senior Director of Global Employee Experience, Technology at Markel since July 2022, Scott oversees global workforce technology initiatives, including desktop environments and collaboration tools. Prior to Markel, Scott held senior leadership roles at Thomson Reuters, where significant achievements included a comprehensive digital transformation for over 32,000 employees and strategic leadership in cloud technology implementation. Additionally, Scott spent over two decades at Emerson in various roles, including Director of Global IT PMO and IT Operations, spearheading significant ERP deployments and digital transformation initiatives. Scott's career commenced in the United States Marine Corps, where foundational skills in network management were developed. Scott holds an MBA from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management and a BA in Information Technology from Concordia University-St. Paul.
