Richard Small has an extensive work experience spanning various roles and companies. Richard most recently worked as a Program Manager at MarketAxess starting in February 2023. Prior to that, they held the role of Senior Project Manager at Bank of New York Mellon from October 2020 to December 2022.
From 2016 to 2020, Richard worked at HSBC in different capacities. Richard initially served as a Program Manager for Global Liquidity & Cash Management before transitioning to the role of EMEA Regulatory Change Manager for Global Markets. In this role, they managed several high-profile regulatory projects for HSBC Bank PLC and its subsidiaries and branches. Richard led projects such as UK Resolution Stays Provisions, where they oversaw the remediation of over 1,000 Global Markets clients, and Bank of Italy Trade Reporting, where they designed and implemented a manual trade reporting solution.
Richard also worked at Barclays Investment Bank from 2009 to 2016, starting as an AVP in Structured Capital Markets MO and eventually becoming a Vice President. In their roles, they focused on regulatory projects and ensuring compliance with initiatives such as Dodd Frank and EMIR. Additionally, they were involved in co-coordinating a CASS project and preparing the SCM business for the introduction of Financial Transaction Tax regulations and EU Short Selling Restrictions.
Prior to Barclays, Richard had experience at Nomura as a Senior Analyst in Equity Operations and at Lehman Brothers in the same role.
Richard Small attended the University of Bath from 1999 to 2003, where they pursued a degree in International Business Management with a focus on German. Their field of study was primarily business.
