Mike Holmes

Mike Holmes began their work experience in 2004 as a Sales Assistant at The Link. Mike then worked as a Sales Specialist at 3 before joining Experian as a System Support Analyst. In 2010, they moved to Hitachi Capital (UK) PLC and worked as a Risk Analyst and Senior Risk Analyst. From 2013 to 2020, they worked at Virgin Money UK PLC, holding various roles such as Technical Lead, Modelling Manager, Head of Retail Credit Models, and Senior Modelling Manager. In 2021, they became the Head of Data Science at Kriya (formerly MarketFinance).

Mike Holmes has a diverse education history. Mike attended Caistor Grammar School from 1999 to 2006 to complete their high school education. Following that, they pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from Sheffield Hallam University from 2006 to 2010.

In terms of professional certifications, Mike obtained a Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership (QCF) from the Chartered Management Institute in 2016-2017. Prior to that, they had obtained a Level 5 Diploma in Management and Leadership (QCF) from the same institute in 2015-2016.

Mike has also acquired several additional certifications. These include being recognized as a Data Scientist with R Track by DataCamp in May 2020, and completing the R Programming Track from the same institution in May 2020 as well. In 2019, they attained a certification in Strategic Thinking from LinkedIn.

Other certifications in Mike's repertoire include being a Chartered Manager from the Chartered Management Institute (obtained in October 2016), a Chartered Mathematician from the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications (obtained in October 2015), and a Chartered Scientist from The Science Council (obtained in October 2015). Additionally, they hold a Level 3 Certificate in Business Banking and Conduct (CertBB&C®) from ifs University College (obtained in March 2015), as well as an Associate Professional Risk Manager designation from PRMIA - Professional Risk Managers' International Association (obtained in January 2015).

Further certifications obtained by Mike include the CB:PSB Foundation Standard from The Chartered Banker Institute (obtained in September 2014), the Scrum Fundamentals Certified credential from SCRUMstudy - Accreditation Body for Scrum and Agile (obtained in August 2014), and the SAS Certified Statistical Business Analyst Using SAS 9: Regression and Modeling certification from SAS (obtained in April 2014).

In December 2013, Mike achieved the designation of Data Science Associate from EMC and became a SAS Certified Base Programmer for SAS 9. Moreover, they obtained the PRINCE2® Foundation certification from APMG-International in February 2011.

Recently, in 2020, they acquired the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in September, and the Alteryx Designer Core certification from Alteryx in June.
