John Howard

John Howard is the current Vice President of Engineering at Markforged. Prior to their current position, John was the Director of Advanced Products at Amazon Lab126, where they led Advanced Product Development and built and led the Hardware Teams that delivered multiple Amazon products, including the first Echo Show and the Astro Home Robot. John has also previously worked as Principal Fellow of Delivery Systems at Nektar Therapeutics, where they had functional and budgetary responsibility for the identification, selection, and development of all Nektar combination drug delivery device and packaging technologies. At Nektar, John led twenty engineers, project managers and support staff in the development of very high volume patient-operated drug delivery products. John has also leveraged internal design teams with offshore and onshore design resources, established a formal mentoring program for key Nektar senior staff, and supported business development on existing and prospective deals.

John Howard has a MS in Manufacturing Systems Engineering and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University.
