Julie Diaz Waters

Julie Diaz Waters currently serves as the Director of State & Local Government Affairs for the Western U.S. at Marriott International since October 2023. Prior experience includes senior roles such as Senior Director of Local Government & Advocacy at California Life Sciences, State Political Director at AFSCME Local 3299, and Legislative Affairs and Community Relations Representative at AC Transit. Earlier in the career, Julie worked as a Senior Field Representative in the California State Assembly, Tobacco Policy Manager at the American Lung Association, and AOD Policy Manager at Bay Area Community Resources, among other positions. Julie holds an Executive Certificate in Public Leadership from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from San Diego State University.
