Carla McCormick, CPA, CGMA began their career as an Operations Manager at Premium Financing Specialists, where they managed daily operations and supervised staff. Carla then worked at J.D. Bean & Associates as a CPA, handling various accounting responsibilities including testing, administration, tax returns, and audits for pension plans.
Carla later joined Moss Adams LLP as a Senior Accountant, where they prepared and reviewed tax returns during the tax season. Carla then moved on to Great Western Malting / Canada Malting Co Ltd, where they held various roles, including Grain Accounting Manager, Malt Controller, and North American Controller. In these positions, they managed finance teams, analyzed financial results, prepared reporting packages, and implemented internal controls.
Carla then served as a Controller at Sapa Extrusion North America, where they were responsible for financial reporting and analysis, budgeting/forecasting, and capital expenditures. Carla also contributed as a key member of the Portland Lead Team and developed budget and forecasting models for six profit centers.
Their most recent role was as a Senior Director of Financial Operations at Mars Veterinary Health, where they currently work.
Carla McCormick, CPA, CGMA, obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from Eastern Washington University in 1998. Carla later obtained the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification from the Washington Board of Accountancy in 2002 and the Oregon Board of Accountancy in 2005. In 2012, they obtained the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) certification from the AICPA.
