Knut Simonsen

Knut Simonsen is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in venture capital and clean energy investments. Currently, Knut serves as a Senior Advisor at Capricorn Investment Group, focusing on deep tech and global opportunities related to clean energy, including sectors such as energy storage, smart grid, renewable sources, and electric transportation. Previously, Knut held various leadership roles at DTE Energy, including Senior Vice President of DTE Midstream and President of DTE Energy Ventures, where responsibilities included corporate venture capital and clean tech investments. Earlier career experiences include positions at McKinsey & Company, Texaco, and Den norske Bank, specializing in business development and renewable energy finance. Knut holds an MBA in Finance from Columbia Business School and a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University.
