Ignacio Mínguez Bacho

Team Lead Of Targets at Marvel Fusion

Ignacio Mínguez Bacho has a diverse work experience in the field of materials science and nanotechnology. Ignacio started their career as a Research Assistant at the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas, where they focused on fabricating and characterizing Porous Anodic Alumina membranes and nanowires array. Ignacio also had a four-month internship at the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility.

Ignacio then pursued their Ph.D. at the Instituto de Ciencia de Materiales de Madrid (ICMM - CSIC). During their doctoral studies, they worked on the fabrication of modulated nanoporous anodic alumina templates for electrodeposition of magnetic and semiconductor nanowires. Ignacio also had internships in Germany and Singapore.

After completing their Ph.D., Ignacio Mínguez Bacho joined the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore as a Visiting Ph.D. Student. Ignacio worked on the fabrication of nanostructures based on semiconductor oxides for energy applications, specifically solar energy conversion. Ignacio also served as a laboratory demonstrator for 3rd-year students in Physics.

Ignacio then moved to the University of Hamburg as a Visiting Ph.D. Student, where they continued their research in the field of nanotechnology. Ignacio later joined the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow. Their research at Erlangen-Nuremberg focused on nanostructures and interfaces for photovoltaic applications. Ignacio was involved in project management, funding applications, writing articles, and supervision of theses. Ignacio also worked on the HYBRICYL project, which aimed to fabricate organic-inorganic heterojunctions for improving the efficiency of photovoltaic systems.

In 2023, Ignacio Mínguez Bacho joined Marvel Fusion as a Surface Scientist. Ignacio then moved to BCMATERIALS, Basque Center for Materials, Applications and Nanostructures as a Ramón y Cajal fellow.

Throughout their career, Ignacio Mínguez Bacho has gained expertise in areas such as coatings, nanosphere lithography, atomic layer deposition, surface modification, emerging photovoltaics, and organic and inorganic semiconductors. Ignacio also has experience in project management, funding application, and public outreach.

Ignacio Mínguez Bacho's education history begins in 2001 when they enrolled at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid to pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Sciences. Ignacio completed this degree in 2006.

Following their Bachelor's Degree, Ignacio went on to pursue a Master's Degree in Nanostructured Materials at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid from 2006 to 2008.

In 2008, Ignacio continued their academic journey at the Instituto de Ciencia de Materiales de Madrid, where they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Materials Sciences. Ignacio successfully completed their Ph.D. in 2012.

In terms of additional certifications, Ignacio obtained the Certified Project Management Associate IMPA Level-D from GPM Deutsche Gesellschaft für Projektmanagement e. V. in December 2022. Ignacio also obtained a certification in Sustainability: Strategies and Opportunities for Industry from MIT Professional Education in April 2022.

Furthermore, Ignacio attended a program on Sustainability: Strategies and Opportunities for Industry at MIT Professional Education in 2022.
