Myra Gatling-Akers

Myra Gatling-Akers is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in management, marketing, and community development. Currently serving as the Regional Manager for Early Detection & Education at Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center since September 2020, Myra develops and implements educational initiatives in the Delta Region. Previously, Myra owned Strategic Marketing Development LLC and Myra Gatling Consulting LLC, focusing on product development and business expense reduction, respectively. Myra also held several key positions with the City of Monroe, including Director of Main Street Monroe and Executive Director of the Downtown Economic Development District, where significant contributions were made to marketing, beautification, and historic preservation efforts. Earlier in the career, Myra worked with the Monroe Chamber of Commerce and First State Bank, gaining skills in member relations, marketing, and public relations. Myra received education from the University of Central Arkansas and the University of Arkansas at Monticello.
