Samantha Zwerling

Samantha Zwerling has a diverse work experience in various organizations. Samantha recently worked at the Maryland State Education Association as the Managing Director of Political & Legislative Affairs, a position they have held since June 2022. Prior to that, they were a Government Relations Specialist at the same organization from October 2019 to June 2022. Samantha also served as the Member Relations Coordinator at the Office of Speaker Michael E. Busch from December 2018 to October 2019. Earlier in their career, they worked as the Chief of Staff at the Office of Senator Richard Madaleno, Maryland State Senate from September 2014 to December 2018. Samantha has also served as a Campaign Manager at Sarah Elfreth for State Senate, District 30 in July 2018. In addition, they have experience in the Association of Big Ten Students as the Director of Legislative Affairs from August 2013 to August 2014. Samantha was also the Student Body President of the Student Government Association at the University of Maryland from May 2012 to May 2014. Samantha gained valuable experience as a Legislative Intern at the Maryland Department of the Environment from June 2013 to August 2013, and as an Intern in the Office of the Democratic Whip in the U.S. House of Representatives from December 2012 to April 2013. Samantha also worked as a Canvasser at Environment Maryland from May 2012 to August 2012 and as a Business Development Intern at jetDiversity from June 2011 to August 2011.

Samantha Zwerling attended Hunterdon Central Regional High School from 2006 to 2010, where they did not receive a degree or specialize in any field of study. Following their high school education, they enrolled at the University of Maryland from 2010 to 2014. During this time, Samantha pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science & Policy with a concentration in Politics & Policy.
