Rick Basehore

Rick Basehore is a highly accomplished oboist with extensive orchestral experience. Currently serving as the Principal Oboist for the Reading Symphony Orchestra since November 2023, Rick has held significant positions in multiple orchestras, including English Horn/Oboe III with the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra and The Maryland Symphony Orchestra since October 2019 and June 2019, respectively. As Principal Oboist, Rick contributes to the Allentown Symphony Orchestra and Sarasota Opera, while also performing as Second Oboist/English Horn for the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra. Previous roles include Principal Oboist for the Fairfax Symphony Orchestra and Co-Principal Oboist with "The President's Own" United States Marine Band. Rick's education includes a Master of Music in Oboe Performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and a Bachelor of Music from the Eastman School of Music.
