Hesham El-Rewini

Provost & SVP at Marymount University

Hesham El-Rewini is the Provost & SVP at Marymount University. Hesham was previously the Dean of the College of Engineering and Mines & Full Professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of North Dakota from July 2008 to July 2019. Prior to that, they were the Chairman and Full Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at Southern Methodist University from August 2001 to July 2008. Hesham started their academic career as the Chairman ad interim and Full Professor of Computer Science at the University of Nebraska at Omaha from January 1990 to July 2001.

Hesham El-Rewini received their executive certificate in transformational leadership from Georgetown University. Hesham also has a postgraduate certificate in academy for innovative higher education leadership from Arizona State University and Georgetown University. In addition, they have a post graduate certificate in crisis leadership in higher education from Harvard Kennedy School. Furthermore, they have a post graduate certificate in institute for management and leadership in education (MLE) from Harvard Graduate School of Education. Lastly, they have a doctor of philosophy (Ph.D.) in computer science from Oregon State University.

They work with Jill Mccabe - AVP & Athletics Director, Shelli Dronsfield - Chief of Staff, and William Bisset - VP for Enrollment Management & Student Affairs. Their manager is Irma Becerra, President.
