Borja Valero Polo

Borja Valero Polo has a diverse work experience in project management and leadership roles in the renewable energy sector. Borja currently holds the position of Director of Project Management Office at Masdar, where they have been since 2016. Previously, they served as the Head of Project Delivery and a Senior Project Manager at the same company.

Before joining Masdar, Borja was the CEO of Shuaa Energy 2 from 2020 to 2022. Prior to that, they worked at SolarReserve as the Vice President of Construction and Project Management, overseeing the execution of large-scale solar power plants in Spain, South Africa, and the MENA region.

Earlier in their career, Borja served as an EPC Project Director at San Jose, working on various water treatment and energy projects. Borja also worked as a Project Manager for Industrial Plants at Cobra, where they were involved in the construction of power plants and desalination plants. Borja began their career at ABENGOA, where they worked in project controls.

Borja Valero Polo completed their education with a Global Executive MBA from IESE Business School in 2015. Prior to that, they obtained a degree in Hidraulica y Energia as an Ingeniero de Canales Caminos y Puertos from ETSI Caminos Canales y Puertos and a degree in Hidraulica y energía as an Ingeniero Tecnico Superior de Caminos, Canales y Puertos from Universidad Politénica de Madrid, both completed between 1990 and 1997.
