Full-time · MA, United States of America

Job description

Building a Multi-State Workforce Pipeline for the Future

The Northeast Microelectronics Coalition (NEMC) Hub is a network of 200+ organizations including commercial and defense companies, leading academic institutions, federally funded R&D centers (FFRDCs), and startups concentrated in eight Northeast states working to expand the nation’s global leadership in microelectronics, accelerate domestic semiconductor lab-to-fab prototyping and boost workforce development.

The NEMC Hub seeks a highly motivated and experienced Workforce Development Manager to spearhead the development and implementation of a strategic workforce development and education plan across our multi-state footprint in the Northeast US.

Thrive in a Multi-Agency, Multi-State Environment

This role is ideal for an ambitious professional who thrives in complex, multi-stakeholder environments. You will leverage your established relationships and expertise in navigating the intricacies of working with federal and state agencies to secure funding and establish robust partnerships. Your ability to build consensus and collaborate effectively across state lines and across the entire microelectronics career continuum (K-12, Community College, University, Reskill/Upskill, Veteran, etc.) will be paramount.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with NEMC Hub members and their ecosystem touchpoints to assess current workforce needs and develop a comprehensive multi-state workforce development and education plan aligned with the U.S. Chips & Science Act, the DoD Microelectronics Commons, and the NEMC Hub's strategic goals.
  • Partner with MassTech divisions to leverage existing programs, relationships, and events as applicable.
  • Oversee the implementation of the workforce development plan, including program development, management, and evaluation.
  • Develop and maintain clear performance metrics to track the impact of workforce development initiatives, including both near-term and longitudinal performance.
  • Cultivate and manage strong relationships with federal and state agencies, industry leaders, educational institutions, and non-profit organizations to build a collaborative ecosystem that fosters a skilled and qualified workforce.
  • Champion the NEMC Hub's mission and vision through thought leadership and outreach activities.
  • Represent the NEMC Hub, and MassTech, at state, regional, and national events or tradeshows.

Join us and make a real difference in shaping the future of the Northeast US microelectronics workforce!
