Hanako Brais

Hanako Brais is a Program Officer for Communities at the Mass Cultural Council since June 2022. Previously, Hanako served as Assistant to the President at The Patrick J. McGovern Foundation from January 2021 to June 2022 and held the position of Research and Programming Assistant at Arts Connect International, Inc. from June 2015 to May 2020, where responsibilities included designing key programming, conducting equity and inclusion research, and mentoring youth. Additionally, Hanako gained experience as a Research Assistant at Connecticut College, an intern at Spark Makerspace, and a Community Service Assistant at Connecticut College Community Partnerships. Hanako holds a Master's degree in Global Inclusion and Social Development with a concentration in Critical Ethnic and Community Studies from UMass Boston and a Bachelor's degree in Anthropology and French from Connecticut College. Further education includes a study abroad program at Nantes Université and a high school diploma from Lexington High School.
