Peter McPhee is currently the Senior Program Director at the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center. Peter has over 10 years of experience in the energy industry, specializing in wind resource and project development.
Before joining the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center, Peter worked as a Senior Energy Engineer for DNV GL from June 2007 to January 2010. In this role, they served as the wind resource and project development lead for KEMA’s American wind practice. Peter was responsible for conducting detailed wind resource analyses, leading due diligence for land-based wind farms, and analyzing the economic viability of projects under different ownership options.
In addition to their work in the wind industry, Peter has also managed the development of interconnection policies for Caribbean utility companies, evaluated the effectiveness of incentive programs for wind, energy efficiency, and solar PV, and completed over 100 building efficiency assessments and 50 energy audits.
Peter’s experience and knowledge in a variety of energy-related fields makes him an asset to the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center and helps him contribute to the advancement of clean energy in the state.
Peter McPhee received their BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and their MS in Mechanical Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University. Peter is currently a Mechanical Engineer at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).
They are on a team with Rhys Webb - Program Coordinator, Quiana Lee-Gaines - Program Manager, and Jade Lu - Program Manager. Peter McPhee reports to Galen Nelson, Chief Program Officer.
