Nathaniel Hafer is the Co-Director at Massachusetts Medical Device Development Center (M2D2). Nathaniel has also worked as an AAAS Fellow at National Institutes of Health, a Biology Research Associate at Federation of American Scientists, and a Mirzayan Science and Technology Policy Graduate Fellow at The National Academies.
Nathaniel Hafer has always been interested in medical countermeasure product development and radiation therapy programs. Nathaniel started their career as an AAAS Fellow at National Institutes of Health and then worked as a Biology Research Associate at Federation of American Scientists. In 2007, they became a Mirzayan Science and Technology Policy Graduate Fellow at The National Academies. After working in various research and policy positions, they became the Co-Director at Massachusetts Medical Device Development Center (M2D2) in 2010.
At M2D2, Nathaniel Hafer coordinates and manages contacts with over 85 biopharmaceutical corporations interested in medical countermeasure product development. Nathaniel also evaluates corporate preclinical data and sets priorities for program funding opportunities. In addition to their work at M2D2, Nathaniel Hafer is also involved in various committees and advisory boards related to medical device development and commercialization.
Nathaniel Hafer has a PhD in Molecular Biology from Princeton University and a BS in Biology from Penn State University. Nathaniel is certified by the CITI Program in Conflict of Interest, Group 1.Biomedical Research Investigators and Key Personnel, Stem Cell Research Oversight, and GCP for Clinical Trials with Investigational Drugs and Biologics (ICH Focus).
