Philip Milley

Philip Milley currently serves as the Director of Legal and Compliance for Canada at Mastercard Foundation, a position held since December 2018, and has also been recognized as a Senior Legal Counsel. Prior to this, Philip held the role of Associate Director of Legal Affairs at the Canadian Council of Christian Charities and worked as an Associate Lawyer at Stewart McKelvey. Philip's legal career began with an articling position and includes valuable experience as a Judicial Intern at the Court of Appeal of New Brunswick. Philip's educational background includes a Juris Doctor from the University of New Brunswick, alongside various degrees in philosophy and applied ethics from Memorial University. In addition, Philip completed a business leadership program for in-house counsel at the University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management. Notably, the legal team at Mastercard Foundation, under Philip's leadership, received the In-House Department of the Year Excellence Award at the Canadian Law Awards in 2021.
