Orlando Pineda Garcia

Orlando Pineda Garcia has a strong background in software engineering, starting with their current role as a Senior Software Engineer II at MasterClass since February 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Medium as a Senior Software Engineer from July 2021 to January 2022, and as a Software Engineer from April 2019 to July 2021.

Before joining Medium, Orlando worked at One Degree, Inc. as an Engineer from February 2015 to July 2018. Prior to that, they gained valuable experience as a Software Engineering Intern at Root-1 in 2012, where they redesigned code, improved app structure, and integrated social media into an educational application.

Orlando's career started with internships at Stanford University in the field of material science and fluid dynamics. In 2008, they interned as an assistant to Professor Gerald G Fuller in the Rheology and Fluid Dynamics Lab. In this role, they engineered a device to simulate fluid interactions and presented their findings. The year before, Orlando worked as a Material Science Lab Summer Intern, where they manufactured nanowires and presented their research to an audience at the university.

Orlando Pineda Garcia earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science from Columbia University, where they studied from 2009 to 2013.
