Katharine Van Wyhe has a diverse work experience in the education sector. Katharine began their career in 2006 as a Recruitment Coordinator for Teach For America. From 2007 to 2010, they worked at EdisonLearning's Andrew H. Wilson Charter School. Katharine then joined Success Preparatory Academy (NSNO) in 2010 as a First Grade Teacher/Grade Level Chair. In 2012, they joined Match Education as an Assistant Principal and later served as the Principal of Match Charter Public School from 2014 to 2018. Katharine then became the Managing Director of Academic Leadership at Match Education until 2020. In 2020, they served as the Interim Principal of Match Community Day before assuming their current position as the Chief Schools Officer at Match Education in 2021.

Katharine Van Wyhe pursued their undergraduate education at Wesleyan University from 2001 to 2005. Katharine obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology during their time there. Following a brief break from their studies, from 2005 to 2009, Katharine continued their educational journey by enrolling in the University of New Orleans. At this institution, they pursued a Master's degree in Education with a focus on Curriculum and Instruction, which they successfully completed in 2011.
