Matt Austin is a seasoned cybersecurity professional with extensive experience in security research and software engineering. Currently serving as a Principal Red Team Engineer at Match Group since August 2024, Matt previously held the position of Principal Security Researcher at Pixee from January 2023 to September 2024. Before that, Matt spent nearly a decade at Contrast Security, progressing from Security Research Engineer to Director of Security Research, where responsibilities included leading a research lab focused on new attack methods and security rule development. Matt's previous roles include Senior Ruby Developer at Machinima, Application Security Engineer at Aspect Security, and Software Engineer positions at JibJab Media, Fonality, and Cellus USA. Matt holds a background in auditing for various standards and has contributed to notable security vulnerabilities, including the Google Chrome CVE-2012-2847 and CVE-2012-2848.
