Hiroto Kambara, Ph.D. has extensive work experience in various scientific roles. Hiroto is currently working as a Principal Scientist at Matchpoint Therapeutics since June 2021. Prior to this, they served as a Consultant at Atlas Venture NewCo from April to May 2021.

Hiroto's work experience also includes a Research Fellow role at Case Western Reserve University from September 2012 to August 2014. Hiroto used RNA-seq with next-generation sequencing (NGS), Genome browser, and RT-qPCR to identify functional long non-coding RNAs induced by Interferon-α in primary human hepatocyte. Hiroto also presented scientific data at conferences and published two scientific papers.

Furthermore, Hiroto served as a Research Assistant Professor at Osaka University from April 2011 to August 2012. During this time, they identified and analyzed host factors critical for viral replication and pathogenesis. Hiroto mentored and trained graduate students, prepared and presented class lectures in microbiology, and published seven scientific papers.
