M. Paola Castaldi

M. Paola Castaldi has an extensive work experience in the field of chemical biology and drug discovery. M. Paola is currently serving as the Senior Vice President and Head of Platform and Chemical Biology at Matchpoint Therapeutics since May 2023. Prior to this, they held the position of Vice President of Chemical Biology and Proteomics at LifeMine Therapeutics from November 2020 to May 2023.

Before joining LifeMine Therapeutics, Castaldi worked at AstraZeneca for a significant period. M. Paola held various roles at AstraZeneca, including Director and Head of Chemical Biology and Proteomics from January 2020 to November 2020, Associate Director and Head of Chemical Biology from June 2016 to January 2020, Team Leader Chemical Biology from May 2015 to June 2016, and Associate Principal Scientist from August 2013 to May 2015.

Prior to their tenure at AstraZeneca, M. Paola Castaldi worked at Sanofi-Aventis as a Senior Research Investigator from July 2011 to August 2013. M. Paola also served as a Scientist at Makoto Life Sciences from April 2009 to April 2011. Additionally, they gained research experience as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Boston University from October 2007 to April 2009 and at UCSD from November 2005 to July 2007. Overall, Castaldi has a comprehensive background in chemical biology and pharmaceutical research, with a track record of leadership and expertise in the field.

M. Paola Castaldi began their education journey in 2001, enrolling at King's College London, where they pursued a Master's degree in Chemistry. From 2001 to 2002, they dedicated herself to studying this particular field. Following the completion of their Master's degree, they furthered their passion for chemistry by enrolling at Imperial College London from 2002 to 2005. During this period, they pursued a doctoral degree in Organic Chemistry.
