Naomi Sachs

Director at Material Innovation Initiative

Naomi Sachs is the Director of the Material Innovation Initiative, a position they have held since 2017. Prior to their current role, Sachs served as President of Sittercity from 2012 to 2017, Senior Vice President of Strategy at the Tribune Company from 2005 to 2011, and Director at Merrill Lynch from 1994 to 2001. Naomi began their career in 1990 as Assistant Business Manager at the New York Times.

Sachs is a leader in the sustainable food movement, having served as a board member for the Sustainable Local Food Investment Group (SLoFIG) and the Factory Farming Awareness Coalition. Naomi is also a founding member of Farm Sanctuary, an organization dedicated to rescuing farm animals from abuse and promoting compassionate vegan living.

Under Sachs' guidance, the Material Innovation Initiative has become one of the leading research centers for sustainable materials development. Her work has helped to bring about significant advancements in the field of sustainable textile production, and they are widely respected for their knowledge and expertise in this area.

Naomi Sachs has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics & Political Science from Yale University.
