Chris Long has worked in the security industry since 2010. Chris began their career at Facebook as a Security Engineer, where they designed and maintained systems to detect and monitor malicious and anomalous behavior. In 2015, they moved to Uber and worked as a Security Engineer, where they were responsible for bootstrapping security monitoring infrastructure in a cloud-based network, as well as building and implementing novel detection mechanisms. In 2017, Long joined Palantir Technologies as a Security Engineer. Two years later, they moved to Netflix, where they worked as a Senior Security Engineer. In 2021, Long joined Material Security, where they currently hold the roles of Director of Security and Staff Security Engineer.
Chris Long attended DePaul University from 2007 to 2011, graduating with a B.A. in Information Assurance and Security Engineering. In 2015, they obtained an Offensive Security Certified Professional certification from Offensive Security. Chris then obtained a GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst certification from GIAC in 2016, followed by an Offensive Security Certified Expert certification from Offensive Security in 2018.
