Humaira Taz

Humaira Taz, PhD, is the Co-Founder and Technical Lead at Omniply, where responsibilities include planning and executing prototypes and fostering client relations. Since May 2018, Taz has also served as an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at TandemLaunch Inc., and contributes as a blogger and freelance writer for the Materials Research Society. Taz's academic background includes a PhD in Energy Science and Engineering from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where research focused on multifunctional amorphous oxide semiconductors and thin films. Previous experiences encompass various research roles at institutions such as the University of California, Berkeley, and Yale University. Taz has significant expertise in synthesis, characterization, and programming related to advanced materials, and has actively mentored undergraduate students in research.
