Bob Green has extensive work experience in the field of software engineering. Bob began their career in 1982 as a Lead Software Engineer at Engineering Planning and Management, where they worked until 1985. From 1985 to 1996, they held the position of Senior Software Engineer at BBN Software Products and Bolt, Beranek and Newman, where they were involved in the design and implementation of various projects. In 1994, they joined BBN as a Senior Software Engineer and took over the development of the Gist performance analysis tool. In 1996, they moved to Dolphin Interconnect Solutions and worked as a Senior Member Technical Staff. Bob also had a role at Etnus LLC as a Senior Member Technical Staff from 1999 to 2006. From 1996 to 2007, Bob Green worked at TotalView Technologies as a Senior Software Engineer and Architect. Since 2008, they have been working as a Principal Software Engineer at The MathWorks.

Bob Green earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) from Bucknell University, where they studied from 1973 to 1977. Bob further pursued their education at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), obtaining a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering (MSME) from 1977 to 1981.
