Alyas Gul

Alyas Gul has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and companies. Their most recent position was as a Senior Cloud Security Engineer at Matillion, where they were responsible for consulting on architecture design from a security standpoint and configuring and remediating security reports from monitoring systems. Prior to that, they worked at Kainos as a Senior Security Engineer and Security Engineer, focusing on security protocols and operations. Alyas also worked as an Ops Engineer (Associate) at Kainos, handling various operational tasks. Before that, Alyas was a TS Systems Engineer at Northrop Grumman, providing support for their National Automated Fingerprint Identification Software (NAFIS). Alyas also worked as an Application Analyst at Birmingham City University, maintaining the university's software and hardware resources. In addition, Alyas has experience as a TS Engineer at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems, supporting the National Live-Scan system, and as a Senior Engineer at Cable & Wireless, maintaining telecommunications voice network monitoring platforms. Alyas began their career at Business File as a Developer and Technical Support, involved in the full product life cycle development and support of bespoke software.

Alyas Gul attended the University of Warwick from 1989 to 1992, where they earned a BEng degree in Electronics. In addition to their formal education, they have obtained several certifications, including the Azure SC900 from Microsoft in August 2023, the Hashicorp Terraform Associate from HashiCorp in May 2022, the Matillion Associate Certification from Matillion in March 2022, the Microsoft Azure Fundamentals AZ900 from Microsoft in August 2020, the AWS Certified Security Specialty from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in February 2020, the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in July 2019, and the AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in October 2019.
