Darlington Moyo

Darlington Moyo has a diverse work experience. Darlington started as a Staff Nurse at Cheshire & Wirral Partnership NHS Trust, where they provided Mental Health nursing service, cared for patients in acute mental distress, and served as a ward co-ordinator/nurse-in-charge.

After that, they transitioned into the tech industry, starting as a Software Engineer at Element Games, where they maintained the company's eCommerce platform and contributed to feature development and bug fixing.

Darlington then joined Matillion, initially as a Software Engineer, responsible for developing and maintaining the company's cloud-native data integration ETL product. In this role, they utilized Java, Agile Scrum methodology, and worked with technologies like Tomcat, Websockets, HTML5 Canvas, GWT, GXT, Maven, Mercurial, Hibernate, and Postgresql/MongoDB.

Darlington progressed to become a Senior Software Engineer in the integrations team at Matillion, where they developed connectors for Matillion ETL products, specifically for AWS Redshift, Snowflake, Google BigQuery, and Microsoft Azure Synapse. Darlington also took on leadership responsibilities, leading feature development and mentoring junior colleagues.

Most recently, Darlington Moyo was promoted to the role of Software Engineering Team Lead at Matillion, where they continued to contribute as a Staff Software Engineer and took on additional leadership responsibilities in managing the software engineering team.

Darlington Moyo has a diverse education history. Darlington first attended Milton High School Bulawayo from 1992 to 1997, where they obtained a General Certificate of Education at the A Level.

After completing high school, Darlington went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Mental Health Practitioner at The University of Salford. Darlington attended from 2006 to 2009.

However, Darlington's interest shifted towards computer science, leading him to enroll at The University of Salford once again, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Computer Science. Darlington attended from 2013 to 2016.

In addition to their formal education, Darlington Moyo has also obtained various certifications. Darlington received the Matillion Associate Certification from Matillion in February 2022. Prior to that, they acquired certifications from Matillion Academy, including Matillion ETL Variables, Universal Connectivity, and Working with Semi-Structured Data in Matillion ETL for Google BigQuery and Snowflake, all in 2021. In 2020, they earned the Matillion Academy certification in Migration and Building a Data Warehouse using Matillion.
