Ramon Padilla has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several decades.
Ramon began their career in 1989 at GEC Alsthom Traction, where they worked as a Software Engineer. Ramon was responsible for the specification, design, implementation, and testing of real-time embedded propulsion control software for various mass transit projects. Ramon also worked on the London Underground Jubilee Line Extension project during a six-month secondment in France.
In 1995, Ramon joined Marconi as a Principal Software Engineer, where they remained until 2002. During their time there, they contributed to the development of software for undisclosed projects.
From 2002 to 2003, Ramon worked as a Senior Software Engineer (Contract) at BNFL. Ramon was initially recruited to improve the company's development processes and procedures for radiometric instruments. Ramon'sexpertise in process improvement initiatives helped gain consensus within the team.
Between 2003 and 2012, Ramon worked at SELEX Communications as a Technical Lead and Software Team Lead. In this role, they developed call services for a secure IP telephony switch, as well as management applications for remotely monitoring and controlling the switch via SNMP. Ramon also worked on developing an embedded SNMPv3 management module for a high-grade data link encryptor.
In 2012, Ramon took on contract roles as a Principal Software Engineer at General Dynamics UK Limited and Lockheed Martin. At General Dynamics, they developed a comprehensive software model using UML and Rhapsody to capture detailed requirements and define behavior. At Lockheed Martin, they designed and implemented a complex, safety-critical component for controlling the ammunition handling system of armored fighting vehicles.
Ramon's next role was at Bioxydyn Limited from 2013 to 2018, where they served as a Technical Lead and Development Manager. Ramon was responsible for the development of a medical device for investigating lung ventilation and perfusion using conventional MRI. Ramon utilized a microservices architecture, specified REST APIs, and led the specification, design, implementation, and testing efforts.
In 2018, Ramon joined Raytheon UK as a Lead Software Engineer, contributing to undisclosed projects.
Since 2019, Ramon Padilla has been working at Matillion, initially as a Software Engineering Team Lead, then as a Development Manager, and currently as the Director of Engineering for Matillion ETL.
Throughout their career, Ramon has demonstrated expertise in software development, team leadership, project management, and the application of process improvement initiatives.
From 1985 to 1989, Ramon Padilla attended the University of Hertfordshire, where they obtained a B.Eng (Hons) degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering.
