Yesenia G. has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and responsibilities. Yesenia began their career as a Youth Community Organizer at Esperanza Del Barrio in 2007. Yesenia then worked at the Mount Sinai Medical Center as a Health Educator, where they trained and supervised peer educators and facilitated health-related workshops for schools in East/Central Harlem. In 2011, Yesenia joined the NYC Department of Education as a Social Work Intern, providing individual counseling and facilitating a peer mediation group. Yesenia then transitioned to The Childrens Aid Society, where they held roles as a Founding Advocate Advisor, providing academic counseling services and developing a curriculum for a school-wide advisory program, and as a College Counselor, offering college advisement services and coordinating the College Set initiative. In 2013, Yesenia joined Harlem RBI as a Program Coordinator/Post-Secondary Counselor, overseeing the 11th grade program and developing college access programming. In 2015, they became the Founding College Program Manager at The Boys' Club of New York, managing a multi-site high school placement and college readiness program. Since then, Yesenia has worked at Matriculate, starting as the Founding Program Operations & Development Manager and progressing to roles such as Senior Program Operations Manager, Director of Strategic Initiatives & Culture, Chief of Staff, and, currently, VP of People and Culture.

Yesenia G. completed their high school education at Westminster School from 1999 to 2002, earning a HS Diploma. Yesenia then pursued their undergraduate degree at Stony Brook University from 2004 to 2007, receiving a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Hispanic and Latin American Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics, General. Following that, Yesenia attended Hunter College from 2010 to 2012, where they obtained a Master of Social Work (MSW) specializing in Clinical/Medical Social Work. It is not specified when Yesenia obtained their College Counseling Certificate from the Goddard Riverside Options Institute.
